Known best for being a college golf coach, amongst Derek's friends and family he's also known for his love of wine. A one day wine making class at a local winery lead to viticulture classes at UC Davis which lead to growing his own grapes in the backyard. In 2018 when a friend offered to share grapes from his vineyard in Santa Barbara County, Derek saw his chance for his wine making dreams to come true. He and his wife, Stephenie, woke up at 4AM to pick up a ton of Syrah grapes, and somewhere along California's 101 Overshare was born. Before long, their living room was filled with 30 cases of 2018 Syrah. Although Derek tried his best to put in a dent in their stash, they quickly realized that it was time to share their wine with others.
Overshare, verb. Definition: to share or reveal too much information.
You are enjoying a great glass of wine with good friends. Stories are being told, there is lots of laughter. Before too long you find yourself wanting to share. Should you? Should you go there? It might be crossing the line, but you can't help yourself. The wine is too good, the company too fun. You decide to overshare because sharing is good...but oversharing is better.
Share a glass. Share with friends. Share the love.
